Denise had to say...
At our last "after hours networking meeting" at La Connor Seafood & Prime Rib, I had the privilege of sitting with Marjorie Plewinski, Twila Colley, Michelle Ross, and as a guest; Nancy Decker. Along comes Carl Angell introducing himself and telling us a cute story about what he had done for his lovely wife this last Valentine's Day.
He was elbow deep in getting our husbands in trouble for all the things they did not do for the rest of us, when I commented that he should stop as my Norwegian husband was about to be in the dog house when Carl says, "Norwegian! Oh there is still hope for him, why I grew up in Ballard and..." Michelle Ross speaks up and says, "I grew up in Ballard" and so I had to pipe up and say "oh my gosh!! - this Less Than 6 Degree connection really is true! My husband Bruce grew up in Ballard too!"
After talking about Ballard and Norwegians for a while, I said to Marjorie, "we should see if you and Nancy have anything in common." Low and behold, Marjorie and Nancy both have kids that not only went to Sedro-Woolley High School together but Marjorie's daughter was a cheerleader for the Sedro-Woolley wrestling team AND Nancy's boys were Sedro-Woolley wrestlers during that same time frame. What can I say, "It's a small world out there and we really are connected in Skagit County in Less Than 6 Degrees!"
If you haven't experienced a Less Than 6 Degrees connection I recommend that you come to the next after hours and find out for yourself! It was an eye opener for me, and I'm sure it will be for you too!
Sincerely,
Denise L. Decker, owner
