En Vogue is looking for designers who are ready to create one-of-a-kind outfits from repurposed materials for the professional runway. En Vogue designers support the work of Friendship House with their time and talents by showing and then donating their creations to be auctioned the night of the show.
The En Vogue Runway Show and Benefit Auction is scheduled for Thursday evening, March 8, 2018 at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge. This will be the eighth year for this fashion charity event with all proceeds from En Vogue supporting Friendship House shelter, feeding and job training programs.
One of the core values at Friendship House is renewal…renewal of the heart, spirit and body.
The En Vogue runway show is an extension of these values…taking used, recycled, donated and/or purchased secondhand clothing and accessories and turning them into creative fashion statements that are shown on a professional runway then auctioned to the highest bidder. A fashion renewal made possible through the vision of talented, local fashion designers for the benefit of those among us who need help the most.
The design challenge is to create exciting, new outfits and accessories made from at least 80% repurposed materials. This is a juried show with a talented panel of judges who are ready with suggestions, ideas and support for each designer.
Designers can work on their own or with a partner as a team. Designers who are in school are encouraged to take on the challenge that can be the beginning of their design portfolio.
Here are rewards for the best work that will be judged on the runway…
First Prize / $250.00 plus a Trophy
Second Prize / $100.00
Third Prize / $50.00
Young designers (under 18), are welcome to enter and compete for a first prize of $50.00 and a Trophy.
