NextExec 2.0 is an ongoing professional development program providing leadership and management curriculum, workshops, and mentoring. Participation in NextExec includes monthly (12) workshops, program materials, online resources, quarterly tours and regular networking opportunities.

Recognition of Board Members’ Service

On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, EDASC marked the occasion of three board members’ final board meeting and presented plaques to Gregg Davidson, Julie Blazek, and Anthony Young. They are leaving the board after many years of dedicated service.

EDASC would like to take the time to thank all of our current, past, and future board members and volunteers for their service and dedication to our mission and to the future of Skagit County’s economy.

Economic Forecast Night: Sponsorship Opportunities

On February 8, 500+ guests come together at McIntyre Hall for a panel review of the economic trends shaping Skagit County and the world’s economy today and tomorrow.

Sponsorships start at $1,500 and include VIP seating and tickets to the VIP “Meet and Greet” with the speakers before the event.

Skagit County in the News

Skagit County has seen an increase in multifamily housing. If this trend increases or holds, Skagit County would find relief from a shortage of affordable housing. A lack of affordable housing has been identified as a county-wide issue since 2015.

Northwest Workforce Council wins nearly $1 million in federal funding to support young adult skills training in Skagit County. EDASC is overjoyed to have been part of the application process for this grant.

Cascadiaweekly.com has featured Skagit County twice last week. One talks about things to do in Anacortes, and the other about local artists in Edison and Mount Vernon.

Skagit Valley Malting is helping a local distiller reach back to whisky tradition by using Washington peat to smoke their malted barley.

Skagit County has approved a permit, the third of eighteen required, for Andeavor Anacortes Refinery’s plan to upgrade its facilities and produce Xylene.
