MOUNT VERNON – Drivers who plan on escaping the weekend heat by starting their trips early should plan for daytime single-lane closures on the Interstate 5 Skagit River Bridge Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
The right lane of southbound I-5 at the Skagit River Bridge will be closed from 4:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday and the right lane of northbound I-5 at the bridge will be closed from 4:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday. During the closures, Washington State Department of Transportation bridge maintenance staff will do routine inspections on the structure.
