Skagit Symphony Presents

2015 Spotlight Visiting Ensemble Series

An Evening of Exquisite Baroque

The Skagit Symphony presents another guest performance in the Visiting Ensemble Series.
The 2015 Spotlight Concert will bring to the stage three renowned musicians passionate about early music, Linda Melsted (violin), John Dornenburg (viola de gamba) and Jillon Stoppels Dupree (harpsichord).
On the program will be the “influencer”, Dietrich Buxtehude. Pachelbel, Händel and Bach were amongst the admirers that visited or studied with the composer in Germany. It is said that Bach’s organ playing changed dramatically under Buxtehude’s influence after staying with him in 1705.
