About Mount Vernon Downtown Association
The Mount Vernon Downtown Association is a non-profit group made up of retailers, service industry, and professional businesses in the downtown business corridor. There are approximately 250 businesses in an eight block area. The Mount Vernon Downtown Association is responsible for beautification of this area, purchasing and installing seasonal banners, and organizing a wide variety of events. We are constantly working on new events, festival, and fund raising to make downtown an attractive, fun and well-loved destination for our community and visitors.
We also maintain a professional office, hold monthly board meetings, research area and regional festivals,and events, and liaison with other cities all across the United States and the world, via the internet to bring a great variety of exciting things to see and do in our town.
Our Board of Directors is made up of downtown merchants and business owners. (We need a link here to go to the board of directors list) The Mount Vernon Downtown Association publishes a newsletter which is distributed to the entire downtown Mount Vernon and contributes to the monthly newsletter sent out by our Chamber of Commerce.
We work very hard to create a vibrant place to live, work, visit, and shop, while preserving our small town quality of life. We support our members by being their diplomat to the City and liaison to other businesses and agencies in our community. Please join us in making downtown Mount Vernon the destination place to be!
