Enjoy July in Mount Vernon!The Fabulous Fourth of July is a great Fourth festival with a positive community feel. The Skagit Valley Highland Games and Celtic Arts Festival brings a bit of Scotland to Mount Vernon, also at Edgewater Park, on July 12 and 13. Enjoy bagpipe band competitions, fiddling championships, sheepdog trials, Scottish country dancing, caber toss, arts & crafts, and much more! This "don’t miss" event is one of Mount Vernon's finest.
If you have kids, you might enjoy the free Children's Art Festival at Hillcrest Park on the 19th. This event features free arts & crafts for children of all ages, entertainment, face painting, balloons, concessions, and more! Also visit the Skagit County Fairgrounds on the 19th and 20th for Horse Around Days, an Equine Extravaganza with riding demonstrations, education, and entertainment.
