City Seeks Public Input on Fireworks

City Council is seeking public feedback from Mount Vernon residents on how fireworks are regulated within city limits.

Currently, according to city code, fireworks purchased at stands within city limits—often referred to as “safe and sane” fireworks—can be used one day each year, on July 4th from noon to midnight.

Residents are being asked to answer a short 7-question survey that will be used by a Fireworks Review Committee, made up of council members and residents, to make an informed recommendation to City Council about fireworks regulations. The survey is open until April 12th.

A link to the survey can be found on the City website at: www.mountvernonwa.gov
