Skagit Valley College Cardinal Athletics announce their return to competition

The Skagit Valley College (SVC) Athletic Department is pleased to announce that the Cardinals will begin preparing for a return to competition today, with the recent decision by the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC).

"We are excited to announce that our student-athletes and coaches will have an opportunity to compete in their respective sports in the upcoming weeks,” said Mitch Freeman, Athletic Director. “This year has been a challenging one, but our student-athletes understand how to fight through adversity and meet challenges head on. Go Cards!"

For spectators, safety protocols will be in place to support student-athletes, fans and supporters:

Indoor Sports:

  • SVC family and four-year college coaches only;
  • Limited to no more than 150 pre-screened guests;
  • All guests must check in and complete an online questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/4aempxsc
  • Required: masks, social distancing from anyone outside your immediate household must be followed at all times;
  • No interaction with student-athletes, coaches, and or staff from SVC or the visiting College;
  • Anyone not following protocols will be asked to leave campus.
  • All children, ages 12 and under, must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times, including accompaniment to the restroom.

Outdoor Sports:

  • No more than 300 pre-screened guests at any outdoor SVC athletic event;
  • All guests must check in and complete an online questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/4aempxsc
  • Required: masks, social distancing from anyone outside your immediate household must be followed at all times;
  • No interaction with student-athletes, coaches, and or staff from SVC or the visiting College;
  • Anyone not following protocols will be asked to leave campus.
