Opening Day at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market

Opening Day of the32nd Annual Mount Vernon Farmers MarketJoin usthe at Riverwalk Park from 9a-2p this Saturday for the openingcelebration of the Mount Vernon Farmers Market.  Over 50 vendorswill be helping us kick off the season as well as live music,delicious cooking demo, kid's activities and hourly giveaways!

Music:  Joan Penney will be performing live from 10-1p. Joan Penney has been an accomplished musician in the Northwest for over 25 years.  Her singing style includes jazz standards, Latin, Blues and musical theatre classics.  To learn more about her, check out:  http://joansings.com/

The Mount Vernon Robotics team: Always a favorite, the MVHS Robotics team is back to share their latest robotics creations with you.

Kid's Activities:
Tri Dee Arts: Tri Dee Arts will be in the kid's booth making tie dye totes. 
Free for the first 125 kids who stop by!

Cooking Demonstration:
Skagit Valley Co-op: Chef Galan will be using fresh market ingredients to create a delicious Breakfast Hash!  Stop by and get a taste and learn how you can make it at home.

Opening Day Ceremony:
9am at the Main Stage: Major Jill Boudreau will ring the bell at 9am to kick off the 32nd Annual season.  Other special guests will share why they love the market and how it has helped grow the community and support local businesses.
