The Merry Berry Time at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market

The more the berrier, so, as every Saturday, make sure to join us from 9am to 2pm in Downtown Mount Vernon Riverwalk Park.
As evidenced in the information below, all your senses will be delighted and your shopping basket is sure not to remain empty!
Share your market experience with us on Instagram using the hashtag #mountvernonfarmersmarket.
Music: enjoy a relaxing performance of Ronnda Cadle's original acoustic fingerstyle instrumental guitar, perfect for personal reflection, tranquility and heartsease. Very helpful both before and after all the hard decision-making amidst the stalls of abundance!

Cooking: snap peas are in season and Sustainable Connections demonstrates how to incorporate them into meals that are sure to please everyone around the table.
Community Partner: Skagit Fisheries brings a new salmon trivia wheel, showcases a display that focuses on the salmon habitat restoration projects and offers fish-related handouts for all ages. All your salmon-related questions are sure to find an answer.

Sustainable Connections' Eat Local First campaign is committed to ensuring the food grown here gets eaten here by highlighting local farmers and showing how to use the in-season ingredients.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program
From this week onwards, WIC will have their own stand at the market. Come and learn more about the program, find out who are eligible for support and what the help entails.

Additional Farmers' Market Senior Voucher distribution

As mentioned in the previous newsletter, Skagit County Seniors, age 60 years or older (55+ if Native American/Alaska Native), who meet certain income requirements (monthly income $1,926 or less for individuals and $2,607 or less for couples) will each receive a voucher worth $40 to use at any approved Skagit County Farmers Market or Farm Stores.

In Mount Vernon, the final distribution of the vouchers will take place on Thursday, June 27th from 2 to 4pm at the Skagit Public Health offices 700 S 2nd Street (third floor). Please share the information with those in need.
