Mount Vernon Downtown Association Call for Artists First Thursday August Art Walk & Community Hang-up

COMMUNITY HANG-UP CALL FOR ARTISTS

Show off your art & win!! All artists, ages 16+, are invited to submit one work of art for our 6th Annual Community Hang-Up gallery exhibit at the Front Gallery, 420 Myrtle, as part of the Downtown Mount Vernon First Thursday Art Walk on August 1. The Community Hang-Up celebrates our community’s talent, and a $250 cash award to be presented by Peoples Bank to the winner of the People’s Choice Award. All media accepted include painting, drawing, sculpture and glass (artist to provide display pedestal), fiber, prints, photography, ceramics, and mixed media. Work should not exceed 36” in any direction including mat and frame, and should beprofessionally presented, ready for hanging. This non-juried exhibit is limited to the first 35 participants on a first come, first served basis. There is a $20 entry fee per person, find submission form at MountVernonDowntown.org.

All art accepted to remain at the gallery for the month of August. Artists may also submit a bio, on an 8½ X 11 sheet of paper, which will be made available to the viewing public.

Drop off art: Monday, July 29, 2019, 4:30-5:30 pm at The Front Gallery, 420 Myrtle, Mount Vernon, WA. If this time does not work for you, please contact Kathleen Petrzelka, (360) 336-3801. Please attach a 3x5 card to the back of your piece indicating: your name, address, phone number, email, medium, title of piece, and sale price. Also, when you drop off your artwork, please fill out the "Community Hang-Up" form. A 25% commission on all sales, accepted by the Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA), to go toward the production of future art events in downtown Mount Vernon. The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry that is not considered appropriate for a family-friendly event.
