Dick Durrance, Keynote Speaker for Community Action’s 2019 Spirit of Hope Event

On October 10, 2019

5 to 7:30 pm at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge, 1288 Casino Drive, Anacortes, WA

Community Action of Skagit County will celebrate it’s 40 anniversary on October 10, 2019 with the annual Spirit of Hope event at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge located in Anacortes.
The 5 pm dinner event features an inspiring keynote presenter and this year we are honored to welcome Dick Durrance.  Dick Durrance’s first assignment as a photographer was published as a 45 page cover story in National Geographic when he was a student at Dartmouth College. He went on to distinguish himself as a U.S. Army combat photographer in Vietnam, staff photographer at National Geographic, business owner photographing global campaigns for advertising agencies, publisher of posters featuring panorama pictures of the National Parks, and creator of photographic libraries for some of the world’s great golf courses.  When you see and hear Dick’s amazing photography and his story telling capabilities you understand that his message of worldly connectedness resonates with the work of Community Action.  The theme of Dick’s presentation will be “In the Spirit of Hope” More information on Dick can be found at www.dickdurrance.com

The annual Spirit of Hope fundraiser focuses on the mission of the organization by celebrating the successes of our clients and staff while inspiring our community to give to an effective and purposeful organization that is making a difference in their community.

We know at Community Action our work with clients is about helping them build hope in their lives along with a vision.   The funds raised from this important event go directly to the 18 programs and services we provide our clients.
