Stop the Bleed®: What Everyone Should Know to Stop Bleeding After an Injury

During this free, hands-on training you will learn various ways to control life-threatening bleeding after an individual has sustained an injury from an everyday emergency, man-made or from a natural disaster. You will be given a list of items to create your own Stop the Bleed® emergency kit. The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma is leading the effort to save lives by teaching the civilian population to provide vital initial response to stop uncontrollable bleeding in emergency situations. Please note this is not a first aid class. No charge, but pre-registration is required by calling 360-814-2424.

Pregnancy and Childbirth: Skagit Valley Hospital

This five-week course for expectant parents includes information about emotional changes during pregnancy, the labor process, breathing techniques, the role of the support person, breastfeeding and a local pediatric care provider to discuss your baby’s first three months. The fee is $100. Medical coupons are accepted. Full payment or a copy of your medical coupon is required two weeks before the class begins. Classes are held at Skagit Valley Hospital Family Birth Center waiting room. Pre-registration is required by calling 360-814-2424.
