EDASC, City of Mount Vernon now accepting microenterprise grant applications

MOUNT VERNON -- A Community Development Block Grant providing up to $10,000 to microenterprise owners impacted by COVID-19 and located within Mount Vernon city limits is now accepting applications.

A total of $100,000 in grant funds are available.

The grant is provided by the City of Mount Vernon and administered by EDASC. Businesses eligible to apply must have five or fewer employees and be located within Mount Vernon city limits. A city limits map can be found here.

Total household income must also be below a set threshold based on family size, as indicated on the application.

Applications will be accepted immediately, with the deadline to apply 5 p.m. June 19. Send completed applications, accompanying documents or questions to EDASC at mvgrant@skagit.org.

Eligible grant expenditures include rent, utilities, PPE, other supplies and wages. The grant shall not be used for construction or any other ground-disturbing activities.

EDASC will prioritize applications based on severity of the impact the business is facing, including from being forced to close by government-mandated closures, social distancing measures or illness. Awards will be approved on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on the availability of funds.
