Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing celebrates 50th anniversary

A three-generation success story, Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing is celebrating its 50th anniversary by giving away $25,000 in services and/or installations.

“We’re blessed to have the support of many talented team members and loyal customers since 1972,” said John Barron, Chief Executive Officer. “We’re very grateful they’ve enabled us to reach this milestone.”

Entries for five drawings to win $5,000 apiece in Barron Bucks, good for company services and/or installations, are available through Nov. 30 at its showrooms in Burlington and Ferndale or by making an appointment. A celebration with cake, prizes and an extra entry for the $5,000 drawings will be presented from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Burlington showroom at 560 S. Burlington Blvd., just north of Rio Vista Avenue.

John Barron’s parents, Dan and Vivian Barron, founded the company in 1972. Dan Barron began his apprenticeship in the Seattle area in the early 1950s as the son of a journeyman sheet metal worker. He and his wife decided it was the right time to start their own business when he was working in Whatcom County for a Seattle-based shop.

Barron Heating, as it was known then, started out serving the residential new construction needs of homeowners in the greater Bellingham and Sudden Valley areas. Similar to most start-ups, the business started in their home, with the garage being the shop and the kitchen table being the office.

John Barron started working as an eighth-grader, cleaning bathrooms and the warehouse. John Barron and Bill Pinkey bought the company in 1998; Pinkey retired in 2018. Brad Barron, son of John, joined the company in 2017 and became Chief Operating Officer in 2020.

Today, Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing has over 200 employees serving the Interstate 5 corridor from Blaine to Marysville, Oak Harbor to Concrete, and the San Juan Islands with showrooms in Burlington and Ferndale. The company projects 2022 revenues of $40 million and Brad Barron said a “people first” focus is the key.

“When our co-workers, customers and community are taken care of, our business will prosper,” Brad Barron said.

Committed to improving lives through its licensed technicians, electricians, plumbers and Certified Home Performance Experts, Barron provides a wide range of heating, cooling, solar, electrical, plumbing, and indoor air quality products and services.
