Skagit Valley Family YMCA partnering with Children’s Council of Skagit County and Family Palooza for free Healthy Kids Day event

The Skagit Valley Family YMCA is partnering with the Children’s Council of Skagit County and Help Me Grow Skagit’s Family Palooza event for Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 13 at the YMCA’s Hoag Road facility (1901 Hoag Road, Mount Vernon, WA 98273). The free event will take place from 2:30-5:00pm.

On Healthy Kids Day, children and families can learn about the importance of learning; healthy eating; nutrition and physical activity; mental and emotional well-being; and developing healthy habits.

More than 40 local organizations will be present at the event, including Skagit County Public Health, the North Cascades Institute, Girl Scouts of Western Washington, the Children’s Museum of Skagit County, and Community Health Plan of Washington, just to name a few. Fun games, educational activities, healthy snacks, and resources will be on tap for kids and families to enjoy.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Family Palooza event for Healthy Kids Day this year,” says Charlotte See, Admin Coordinator at the Y and one of the organizers of the event. “By joining forces, families will have access to more resources, more opportunities for healthy activities, and will have double the fun!”

Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. For more than 30 years, YMCAs and their communities have hosted free community events aimed to inspire kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.
