Point-In-Time (PIT) Count Assistance Needed
The Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is an annual effort to count those experiencing homelessness on one night: January 29th, 2026. The data collected determines the amount of state and federal funds that come to Skagit County. In Skagit County we use this opportunity to distribute critical supplies to those left out in the cold, such as blankets, sleeping bags, tents, warm clothing, hygiene items, first aid kits, food, and other essential items.
The success of this event is contingent on our community’s support. There are two primary ways you can make a huge impact with a small effort:
- Many of the agencies providing financial support for this program are experiencing funding cuts and can’t provide the same support that they have in year’s past. Even a small donation can go a long way to aid those in need. All donations go directly to the purchase of these supplies.
- We could also use your volunteer support. Volunteers can help prior to January by sharing information with their neighbors and businesses who might be able to support our effort. The week of January we will have four hour shifts throughout the week at local service providers and food banks around the county where we need assistance in managing events and completing surveys with those in need.
