Types of Baskets We Offer:
- Solenia Sun Begonia Baskets – Heat-tolerant and non-stop bloomers.
- Sun-Loving Baskets – Thrive in full sun with vibrant, colorful blooms.
- Shade Baskets – Ideal for covered patios or north-facing spots.
- Fuchsia Baskets – Great for partial shade, with elegant, trailing blooms.
Hanging Basket Care Tips:
1. Pick the Right Spot
- Sun-Lovers: Place in full sun (6+ hours/day).
- Shade Baskets & Fuchsias: Prefer partial shade or morning sun only.
2. Water Regularly
- Water daily in warm weather, especially for sun baskets.
- Ensure water runs through the bottom—never let them dry out completely.
3. Feed Weekly
- Use a liquid fertilizer once a week for constant blooming.
- Balanced or flowering formulas work best (like 10-10-10 or 20-20-20).
4. Deadhead & Prune
- Remove faded flowers to encourage more blooms.
- Lightly trim leggy growth to keep baskets neat and full.
5. Rotate for Even Growth
- Turn baskets every few days so all sides get equal light.
Cold Weather Caution:
Hanging baskets are sensitive to cold temperatures and should not be left outside when nighttime temperatures drop below 45°F (7°C). Prolonged exposure to cold can stress the plants, slow growth, or even cause damage.
- Solenia Begonias, Sun-Lovers, Shade Baskets, and Fuchsias all prefer mild to warm conditions.
- If cold nights are expected, bring baskets indoors or into a sheltered garage or porch overnight.
- Avoid placing them out too early in the season—wait until nights are consistently above 50°F.
Protecting your baskets from cold snaps will keep them blooming strong and healthy all season long.
Quick Tips by Basket:
- Solenia Begonias: Self-cleaning—no deadheading needed. Loves sun or part shade.
- Sun Baskets: Water more often; they dry out faster in direct heat.
- Shade Baskets: Avoid overwatering in cooler, low-light spots.
- Fuchsia Baskets: Protect from harsh afternoon sun and heavy rain.
