Summer Season

Summer in Mount Vernon is warm and inviting. Wander historic downtown Mount Vernon to enjoy the community-driven waterfront park, and historic downtown's riverfront boardwalk, home to the walking and biking trail spanning along the bank of the Skagit River. Driving through Skagit Valley's farmlands in the hot days of summer will offer respites of fresh produce stands and u-pick fields. Take a 3 mile leisurely walk on the Padilla Bay Trail and discover estuary and oceanic wildlife with every step.

Skagit Valley Highland Games & Celtic Festival

The Skagit Valley Highland Games & Celtic Festival is an annual event in Mount Vernon, WA. Held the second full weekend of July, this Festival attracts over 10,000 people each year!  We think of it as a kind of “Scottish 3-ring circus" with a wide range of activities for young and old alike.

Truly, it can be magical to experience Shakespeare outdoors. The Bard set numerous scenes from several of his plays in private gardens, wooded thickets and forest glades. Come experience Shakespeare outdoors and under the stars, the way it was meant to be.
